New software to boost data protection and privacy

The new regulation, which came into effect in May last year, is an European Union (EU) law on data protection and privacy and is aimed at giving more control to individuals over their personal data and at simplifying the regulatory environment.
The University’s Centre for Secure, Intelligent and Usable Systems (CSIUS) is heading the EU-funded Data Governance for Supporting GDPR project (DEFeND) which will deliver “an innovative data privacy governance platform to empower organisations in different sectors to assess and comply with the law and increase their operational capacity”
